Sorry it's been awhile since I've blogged. We have been busy and enjoying our summer.
The most exciting news this month is that Luke and Jee Young welcomed their daughter, Alice Gilbert Dobbs, on July 17th. How cute is she???
The big kids insisted that we add her birthday to our monthly calendar and I was happy to oblige.
Ahhh - and look what they have to look forward to in just two short years! Potty training. Well, not really. I'm not even trying yet. But he was really interested in Liam peeing outside the other day so we took off his diaper and he'd go stand at the fence every few minutes. Fun, fun, fun!
The big kids and I had fun at the annual family fun night our church puts on.
Can you see the lizard they are staring at??
The kids have been reading a ton this summer. When they completed the summer reading program through our library they each received a yard sign. Very cool.
Audrey and Liam had VBS last week which is always a huge hit. And we all went to the Darrington Bluegrass Festival last weekend.
It's been busy. And restful. And fun. So thankful for my family and the amount of time I get to spend with them.

quack, quack
For Christmas this year Luke and Jee Young got our family gift certificates to go on a Ride the Duck adventure. For 90 minutes you get a land and water tour of Seattle and Lake Union on a restored WWII amphibious landing craft. So this past Saturday we got up early and headed to Seattle to take our ride. And it was a BLAST. The time just flew and it was wonderful. I would highly recommend it!
We met Grandma and Grandpa there and they loved it too!
Our Captain was a riot! So, so funny. Her name was Captain Luna Chick and she made the trip very fun. She had Ethan come up to the front of the boat and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him.
Grandma and Grandpa treated the kids to duck t-shirts. And Luke and Jee Young got them these "quackers". (Very fun while on the ride, but now an outside toy!)
Thanks Luke and Jee Young. What a great gift for the whole family!

down two
On Thursday we met my parents at the top of the pass so Audrey and Liam could spend the week in Chelan. And by all accounts they are having a wonderful time! Our house seems very quiet. Ethan seems confused by their absence but I also think he's enjoying having Mom and Dad to himself. We're so thankful our kids get this great opportunity each summer!
