bummer...
Patrick just called to say he won't be home tonight until 8:00 or so - which means I'll miss the Good Friday service tonight. Just like I missed the Christmas Eve service for the same reason. I'm disappointed. One more thing to look forward to, I guess. When the kids are older I'll be able to go to these events even if Patrick cannot join us.

on the mend
AMEN! Ethan is on the mend. He's feeling SOOOO much better. Little bit of coughing and a little bit of wheezing but his breathing has slowed down (it was so fast while he was sick) and he's mostly back to his usual self. So much so that I was exhausted keeping up with him yesterday. Seems like he's into everything. I've delayed putting up the gates because the big kids cannot get over them easily so it actually makes things harder. But anyway - we're so thankful Ethan is feeling better. Huge answer to prayer. Now if he would just remember how to sleep at night........

high school reunion
Patrick has his 20-year high school reunion this summer. We received a form to complete and return with various questions on it. His answers cracked me up so I thought I'd share.
Since graduation I have been: procreating
My highlight of the past 20 years has been: procreating
My favorite CHS memory is: not procreating
Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?: not procreating

love the sunshine!
Isn't God so good to give us exactly what we need right when we need it?? Like the sunshine, for instance. The big kids are having a ball playing out back. And I'm getting some much-needed housework done while Ethan is napping. Having that sun shining through the windows is so nice. Just exactly the blessing I needed today.
sick, sick, sick
Will we ever be well again?? I was feeling so confident that we'd made it through this winter very healthy. Then a few weeks ago we got colds. And then another cold. And then another cold. But I kept telling myself - they're just colds. It could be so much worse. Well it apparently is worse. Ethan now has RSV. Which I guess is essentially just a cold - but in infants can be dangerous. He wheezes when he breathes and coughs a lot. It's scary to watch his exhausted little body try to breathe. At his Dr. appointment yesterday she said that if he gets much worse he would need to be admitted to the hospital. They could give him oxygen to help him breathe and IV fluids. But so far - we're ok at home. Just the thought of the hospital scares me to death. But so does watching him work so hard to breathe. On the positive side he's still nursing ok. And he has moments when he seems like his old self so that's encouraging. Please keep us in your prayers. I'm just ready for us to be healthy again!!!
