Uncanny Resemblance

The picture on the left is AUDREY - her first Halloween at 8 months old (scanned picture, not as clear). The picture on the right is Audrey and ETHAN - his first Halloween at 3.5 months old. Hard to believe how much they look alike in the same mouse costume!

Preschool Boy

Liam loves preschool! He attends one day a week for a couple of hours. He enjoys the singing (he now sings a clean-up song when we pick up around the house), the crafts (today was a peek-a-boo pumpkin) and meeting new friends. Cannot believe he'll be 4 next week!!

Ethan loves his tongue!

First he was fascinated by his hands, now it's his tongue. The wonders never cease! And I love this onesie Aunt Kelly got for him. I'm planning to make a quilt someday with squares from all my favorite baby clothes and this one will definitely be included. (All I have to do is have Stef teach me how to quilt - oh, and find the time! Details, details...)

Halloween Tree

What a fun craft we did this morning! It's out of a book my mom gave me called Easy-to-Do Holiday Crafts. Worked great. Then we hung them on a tree in our dining room and now we have a Halloween Tree! Maybe I'll start liking this craft stuff after all.

The third child...

My sister-in-law pointed out that I don't have many pictures of my third child up yet - and she's right!! (thanks Lorinda!) He'll probably have to get used to it...but in the meantime I thought I'd share his latest "tricks." He loves his exersaucer and jumperoo. He's so full of smiles - we're having a ball with him! He makes me want to keep having babies....well...almost!

Cookies!

Audrey has an end of the season soccer party tomorrow and wanted to bring Halloween sugar cookies! So guess what we've been doing for the past two mornings?? :-) YUM!

Pumpkin Time!

We had a great time during our annual visit to Stoney Ridge Farm this morning. We took a tractor ride, selected our pumpkins, got lost in the corn maze, picked apples, enjoyed the animals and had yummy apple pie. Very fun morning! And beautiful weather.

Fall is here!

We collected leaves earlier this week and made fall placemats this morning. Then we got to use the placemats for lunch (doesn't everyone eat lunch in their swimsuits in October??). The kids love anything creative so my goal is to do art or cooking each Friday. Not my forte - but I'm trying!

Soccer Girl

Audrey is enjoying her first year of soccer. Her team is made up of 11 girls 6 years and under and they are called the Purple Pirates. She's a great soccer player (when she's not being distracted by raindrops and friends on other teams!) and has had fun getting to know the girls on her team. Games are every Saturday and she has just 2 left this season. The weather is getting much colder the last couple weeks so we'll be glad to have a break soon.

Mrs. Mom

Audrey and Liam had dentist appointments last week. The dentist asked Audrey how she liked kindergarten and she said it was "great!" Then he asked her what her teachers' name is. She replied (very seriously) "Mrs. Mom." The dentist and his assistants were cracking up! I can't remember who told Audrey she should call me Mrs. Mom. Maybe my brother?? But she remembered! We are having so much fun homeschooling. She is going much faster than I thought she would and is having a great time. In addition to our regular work, last month we studied trees and the continents and this month we're doing the presidents. We'll conclude by doing an election of our own on Nov. 4th. I didn't realize how much I missed teaching until I've gotten back into it. Very fun.

Here I go...

I never thought I would ever do a blog. Where would I find the time? What would I say? Then I realized that there are things happening in our day-to-day lives that I want to record and share with friends and family who we do not see as often as we'd like. So here I go. Can't guarantee how often I'll post. But I'm hoping to at least get some pictures up from time to time so our families can see the kids growing (way too fast!!). I just took this picture this past weekend. I'm still getting used to the idea of having THREE kids and love to have pictures of them all together. Hope you'll enjoy it too.

Today was a big day in the Oscarson household. We now have high-speed internet AND caller ID on the phone. I know - probably the last people in Bellingham to get these things - but we did it. We always said that once we started homeschooling we want high-speed so here we are. I was just in the middle of this post when the phone rang. Oh my - online and talking on the phone! Hopefully those of you that call us will get a busy signal a lot less often.

That's it for now. I'll do my best to keep writing!!
