she broke a leg!

Audrey's play went great this weekend. We're all exhausted but she had such a wonderful time, learned a lot, and even made a sweet new friend. A huge success all around!

villains, villains and more villains!

Audrey is participating in a play this summer through Creative Youth Theater. The play is called Villains, Villains and More Villains! She is thrilled with her part because she gets to be a damsel in distress who later turns into a villain. If you're interested - they will be performing Thursday, 7/25 at 7pm, Friday, 7/26 at 7pm and Saturday, 7/27 at 11am.

gulp!

This was our conversation in the car this morning....

Ethan - Mom, it seems like a lot of people are having babies. When are you going to have another baby?

Me - Well buddy, Daddy and I have decided that we are not going to have any more babies. We'll adopt more kids into our family, but I won't have more babies.

Ethan - Why not?

Me - We just decided that three is good.

Ethan - Well how do you NOT have any more babies?

Liam - Yeah - how?

Me - GULP. Well, it's kind of complicated. We'll talk about it later.

Oh crap - I'm pretty sure I need to tell them how you HAVE babies before I tell them how you don't. I'm so not ready for this....

track and field

The kids and I went to a track and field night this week. Our Parks and Rec department organizes these activities in the summer and this was the last one this year- so in spite of the fact that it was hot and we'd all had a long day - we went! The kids had fun participating in running, mini-javelin, shot-put, discus and long jump competitions.

girls weekend

Audrey and I spent the weekend in Lake Chelan with our good friends Kylie and McKenna. It was our fourth-annual Girls Weekend - and we had a great time! We somehow managed to not get a picture of the four of us - but got a few cute ones of the girls.

Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us take over your home once again. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful place to go! And thank you Grandma for helping Audrey sew their matching skirts!

eager anticipation

Daddy was gone this weekend for less than 24 hours and returned to this -- two eager boys awaiting his arrival.

I guarantee I don't get this kind of reception when I go away. There's just something about Daddy...

celebrating....ethan!

Ethan turns FIVE this week so we celebrated his birthday today. He made a list of all the things he wanted to do on his special day. Thankfully, his requests were reasonable and we were able to meet every one!

1. Pancake breakfast
2. Presents
3. Lynden Park
4. Cake and Ice Cream (fire truck cake made by Audrey!)
5. Watch Gilligan's Island
6. Pizza at La Fiamma

It was a great family day! But I still can't believe my baby is almost 5!!

summer so far

I'm woefully behind on blogging. We've been too busy having fun to blog! So I'm just going to do a quick overview of our summer so far.
  • We took a family field trip to the Sardis Raptor Center in Ferndale. Such a great place!
  • Liam participated in the Squalicum High School football camp.
  • Audrey finished up her year of jazz dancing and received an award for "Most Confident Dancer."
  • Patrick had a week of vacation. We did some day-trips and ate vacation food, but got to sleep in our own beds. My idea of perfect!
  • Grandma and Grandpa visited. They took us to dinner, played games with the boys, and endured enjoyed Audrey's three-hour dance recital. Always nice to have them here!
  • We celebrated Half-Christmas with music, decorations, treats and gifts (tennis racquets for the kids so we have a new family activity!).
  • Liam participated in the Michael Koenan/Jake Locker football camp. He had a wonderful time and even caught a pass from Jake and ran it in for a touchdown!
  • We went to our first family Mariner's game. It was a fun day - but I have decided that I am just not a baseball fan. Give me football any day.
  • We enjoyed a delicious dinner with Luke and Jee Young. It was the first time the boys got to meet Margo and they were very excited.
  • It's been hot here so we've enjoyed lots of popsicles and some time in the sprinkler.
  • We've been to some great parks, including our favorite one in Lynden with friends.
Here's a huge photo dump of some of the above-mentioned activities. And hopefully from now on I can blog in smaller chunks. But no promises. I'm enjoying my summer!
